The organizational vision of Garden Gnome Plantscapes is a world where employment is dignified, and gardens are full of plants intentionally chosen to benefit ecosystems and human needs.

Building towards this vision, Garden Gnome's mission is to create fair and respectable jobs while using eco-friendly and resilient approaches to gardening, following historical traditions and innovating with new ideas, choosing native and edible plants whenever possible, and using modern horticultural science to serve as stewards of the gardens of New Orleans.

• Providing work uniforms, safety equipment, and tools

• Using electric rather than gas power tools

• Using native plants and flowers that feed local pollinators

• Following traditional New Orleans garden aesthetics

• Repurposing plants and reusing materials when possible

• Working preferentially with other small local businesses
